Born in Patmos, he became Metropolitan of Caesaria. Then he was pushed to the patriarchal throne, by the support of the translator of the Sultan, Alex. Gkikas. During his patriarchy, he did not seem to show any particular interest about the ecclesiastecal issued. He died in Patmos in 1747.
